After removing the device from packaging and setting it in accordance with provided safety instructions, insert the batteries into the battery slot (6), and then connect the device (7) to the power grid using the provided cable and adapter. In order to insert batteries, it is necessary to remove battery housing lid by unscrewing the screws using the provided 4 mm Allen wrench.

Caution!! Use the batteries you received with the device – rechargeable batteries 3.7 V li-Ion – type 18650! The use of inadequate batteries may cause damage to the device. The device must not be transported or stored with batteries inserted. When inserting batteries, pay attention to installing batteries + terminal and – terminal correctly according to markings inside the battery housing, otherwise damages to the device may occur! Device damages caused by improper installation of batteries are not covered by warranty! This note is also placed on the battery bay, to insert batteries, remove it from the bay and read the note:

CAUTION!!

Device damages caused by improper installation of batteries are not covered by warranty!

The purpose of batteries in M-Care device is to maintain the device in operation despite power outage. In order for the device to switch to battery mode, it is first necessary to connect the device to the (3), and only then disconnect the device from the power grid.

If you would like to use the device with pre-charged batteries, without firstly connecting the device to the power grid prior to turning it on, it is necessary to open the lid (use the provided Allen wrench) of the battery housing (6), press the button on the battery housing (marked by the letter “a” in figure below) and to turn the device on within 10 seconds by pressing the ON switch (3).

How to fill the disinfectant container?

Open the disinfectant container lid (1) and fill the disinfectant container with a desired disinfectant. When opening container lid, the device will switch to filling mode and signals the level of filling with a sound signal and graphically on the device screen (2). After filling, close the disinfectant container lid. Insert your hand into the opening for disinfectant extrusion several times until the disinfectant is extruded and the disinfectant supply system is filled. The device is now ready for use.

The precision of container filling level may be influenced by atmospheric conditions. At a higher difference in the disinfectant temperature and container wall temperature, the recalibration of the container’s filling level is performed immediately after the filling.

Caution! The device is produced to be filled with a disinfectant. Do not fill the container with motor oils, petrol or corrosive agents. This can cause damage to the device.

Use disinfectants from original packaging, ready for use. Dilution of disinfectant with water or other liquids changes its properties and may disable dosage mechanism of the pump.

3. How to use standing disinfectant container device?
Position your hand into the opening (4) with your palm facing upwards for disinfectant dosing and measuring skin temperature on the wrist as instructed on the device screen (2).

According to values measured, the device will dose a disinfectant on your palm and display on the screen the result of temperature measured on your wrist skin.

How M-Care device temperature sensor work?

 Temperature display on device screen

**If the measured value is below 34.0 °C, the screen will display “OK” without measured value this means that temperature is not evaluated. If the measured value is above 45 °C, the screen will display a notification: Above the measurement range.
A body temperature of 37.5 °C or higher is considered an increased body temperature. In order to ensure proper measurement of the temperature of wrist skin, it is necessary to position your hand correctly according to the instructions on the screen – position the wrist towards the red light beam within the opening for disinfectant dosing and the temperature is measured in a way that a red laser beam is positioned in the middle of the wrist. The measured value is informative (+/- 0.5 °C). Measurement results serve as a reference and are not intended for making a medical diagnosis.

Additional information on the screen:
A – number of uses since the last filling B – filling level
C – battery charge

How does temperature measurement method using a non-contact IR sensor works?

Measured values

As with any temperature measurement method using a non-contact IR sensor, M-Care device measures the surface temperature of objects placed in front of the sensor and is intended for measuring the surface temperature of the wrist skin.

M-Care device approximates the measured value of the wrist skin surface to the mathematical correlation given by a non-contact thermometer taking into account the emissivity of skin surface and external influences according to the following formula:

𝑇𝑜𝑐 = √( (𝑇𝑜𝑚4 − 𝑇𝑎4) / 𝐸𝑝𝑠 4 ) + 𝑇𝑎4

Where Toc is – final temperature; Tom – temperature of the measured object, Ta – ambient temperature, Eps – emissivity of the measured object.

Measurement results serve as a reference and are not intended for making a medical diagnosis.

The ideal ambient temperature for measuring is room temperature. External influences that can affect the measurement include: air conditioning, fans, hot or cold air flow.

Temperature of a human body varies during a day!

Changes in temperature during a day depend on numerous factors such as time of day, age, physical exertion, emotional state, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, environmental conditions, and illnesses.

Non-contact thermometers are used for quick temperature estimation!

An additional assessment of a general situation of a person is also very important. If you are not sure of the results of the measured values obtained via a non-contact method, measure the temperature again using another measurement method.

Maintenance and disposal

M-care is a “plug ‘n’ play” device for non-contact disinfection and temperature measurement with minimal maintenance needs. The outer part of the housing is made of stainless steel and can be maintained by wiping with wet cloth or by means of available stainless steel cleaners. It is prohibited to use corrosive agents such as acetone or other solvents to clean any part of the device.
